*Position Summary: *
The goal of the work of the Occupational Therapist (OT) is to empower clients to participate more fully in daily tasks when the ability is compromised by a health condition. The OT will utilize the therapeutic use of occupations, including everyday life activities to support participation, performance, and function in roles and situations in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings. Services provided to the clients by the OT may be in the clinic or home setting. The OT will report directly to the Clinical Manager.
*Responsibilities:*
* Evaluates clients/students and prepares appropriate therapy plans
* Provides staff and community resource specific to certifications
* Participates as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and IEP team
* Assists in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans
* Determines appropriate treatment plans through documented evaluations and consultations
* Provides training on the use of necessary occupational therapy equipment and strategies as deemed appropriate
* Carefully documents all services provided in an effective and clear manner
* Meets the needs of all clients/students effectively by working in partnership with other disciplines
* Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge of research, theories, and practices associated with therapy in the school-based setting
* Adheres to the guidance and discretion of organizational leadership
* Other relevant duties as assigned
*Educational Requirements:*
* Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
* Full approval/licensure from Michigan's Department of Licensing And Regulatory Affairs (LARA)
* Current active certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy - NBCOT
* Significant experience and/or coursework in related fields
* Related academic endorsements preferred such as feeding, etc as specified by clientele needs
*Other Requirements/Qualifications:*
* CPR/First Aid Certification
* Ability to lift up to 50lbs
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to pass criminal background check
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
