We are seeking skilled and dependable Maintenance Assistant to join the maintenance team to assist with the daily maintenance operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant functioning of all equipment, systems, and facilities. This role will assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities and adheres to all safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the maintenance department in performing safety, quality, and equipment performance to maintain Guerdon standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance on building and equipment and keep effective records.
- Handles basic repairs on equipment, tools, and buildings.
- Follows SOPs, checklists, and training materials for maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the maintenance department by assisting with reports.
- Maintains the workstation, equipment, tools and surrounding area in an orderly, safe manner.
- Performs snow removal on walkways/entryways to provide a safe and hazard free surface.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Knowledge of plumbing, electricity (low-medium) and mechanical equipment.
- Experience in building maintenance process, custodial practices, carpentry and landscape practices.
- Experience in precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
- Must have reliable transportation and stellar attendance with the ability to work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
- Must support Guerdon Safety Programs
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service skills.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to explain technical information.
- Ability to balance multiple projects, follow through on priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Learning agility to master new software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including navigating construction sites.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment for up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding as needed to inspect work sites.
- Capable of working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather, dust, and noise typical of construction sites.
- Ability to use hands to operate equipment and construction-related tools.
- Visual acuity to read blueprints, technical documents, and computer screens.
- Hearing ability to communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
- Ability to work in shared space.
