Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Rheumatology

Our Rheumatology team is growing, and we're looking for a compassionate, motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join us in Peoria, AZ. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced physician and a supportive care team in an outpatient setting, helping patients manage chronic conditions and improve their quality of life.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic results.
- Partner with our rheumatologist to evaluate and care for patients with autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, and more.
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other tests to support clinical decisions.
- Develop, manage, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications, including disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologic therapies, in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease process, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with rheumatologist, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Perform joint injections and aspirations (training provided if needed).
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate, timely medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned by collaborating physician.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (Master's or Doctorate) with national certification (ANCC or AANP) or Licensed Physician Assistant with national certification (NCCPA).
- Arizona NP or PA license with prescriptive authority (or eligibility).
- Background in rheumatology, internal medicine, or a related specialty is a plus — but we're happy to provide training if you're eager to learn.
- Strong clinical skills, but just as importantly, strong communication and compassion.
- A collaborative spirit and a desire to build long-term relationships with patients.

Pay: $100, $110,000.00 per year
