Raytheon's Advanced Technology (AT) strategic business unit is one agile team developing key discriminators for our core products and capturing attractive adjacent market share to enable new capabilities that defeat our Warfighter's threats. The Advanced Effectors & Space team within Advanced Technology focuses on Advanced Air Warfare Systems, Advanced Hypersonic Systems, Alternate Missions & Space, and Integrated Kill Chain Architectures.

Our Advanced Technology SBU Engineering Team is seeking an IPT Lead – Test Range, Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to lead a cross-functional team performing design and implementation of a large antenna range/chamber for Raytheon. The selected candidate will manage and coordinate the efforts of technical Subject Matter Experts and major external suppliers to execute the complete development cycle of the chamber from concept design through build and implementation. The candidate will also coordinate the chamber design and build effort with another team responsible for design and construction of a new building that the chamber will be housed in.  The candidate will be responsible for tracking and meeting the cost and schedule constraints for the project.

This is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do

  • Manage a large antenna range design project with a budget of $40M+
  • Coordinate activities between the project manager of the building construction team, Facilities, the sponsoring program and its customer, technical Subject Matter Experts, and the suppliers of the antenna chambers and test equipment
  • Lead the work of an interdisciplinary engineering team including electrical, RF, mechanical, systems, etc. to define, analyze, simulate, implement, and evaluate range/chamber requirements and performance capability, including relevant test equipment
  • Manage chamber/range equipment and service suppliers

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with at least two of the following:
    • Management and/or leadership of engineering projects with >$20M of scope
    • Management of suppliers with >$5M of scope
    • Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience
    • Experience being a Cost
