The Accounting Manager is responsible for working closely with the Director of Accounting & Finance to oversee core accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in support of our mission-driven work. This role is hands-on and operational, with a strong focus on Sage Intacct, month-end close, grant accounting, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting funder compliance, and ensuring leadership has clear, reliable financial information to guide decisions

  • Project QUEST's "wraparound services include life and skill assessment, academic remediation, career mapping and coaching, college and technical education, soft skill training and financial assistance. As a workforce intermediary, Project QUEST accomplishes these outcomes through collaboration with other workforce development partners.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Close

  • Lead and support daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes
  • Manage month-end close in Sage Intacct, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Maintain and reconcile organizational credit cards

Sage Intacct & Financial Reporting

  • Serve as a primary user and subject-matter expert for Sage Intacct
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for leadership and funders
  • Support audits and financial reviews as needed
  • Ensure consistent use of accounting structures, dimensions, and internal controls

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Oversee accounts payable coding, review, and posting
  • Process payments in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manage accounts receivable, including preparation and tracking of funder invoices
  • Maintain grant billing schedules and related receivables

Grant, Fund, and Cost Tracking

  • Maintain Cap Reports and Job Cost Reports for all participants and applicable funders
  • Ensure compliance with funding guidelines and reporting requirements
  • Log, track, and reconcile all donations and contributions monthly

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with program and leadership teams to support financial transparency
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
  • General ledger management
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Month-end close and financial reporting
  • Audit support
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with Sage Intacct is required
  • Strong preference for experience in nonprofit and fund accounting environments
  • Experience working with grant-funded organizations and compliance reporting is highly valued

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
