Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. The role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need through personalized care and compassionate service.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient observation to monitor health status and respond to needs promptly
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties
- Monitor vital signs and report any health concerns to medical staff or supervisors
- Follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs
- Assist with documentation and record keeping in compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures including medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities,
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assurance
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working with residents and team members
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a caregiving environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Previous experience in long-term care or home health is a plus
