Summary

The Production Process Engineer operates within the Business Intelligence (BI) Team, a cross-functional unit responsible for enterprise guardrails, workflow standardization, systems governance, and data-driven operational improvement. AI usage is focused on planning support, benchmarking production processes, and quality checking against standards. The role must be willing to learn and expand AI usage as tools evolve.

BI Team Responsibilities

  • Develop SOPs to improve production output and record historical data for future reference.

  • Evaluate workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose scalable improvements.

  • Create SOPs and manuals and maintain documentation within the company knowledgebase.

  • Anticipate operational roadblocks across departments and implement proactive solutions.

  • Report on KPIs established by Management and Ownership (on-time %, FPY, work order metrics).

  • Maintain expert-level proficiency in Smartsheet and other enterprise systems.

Production Engineer Responsibilities

  • Improve production throughput by identifying processes requiring revision, initiation, or cataloging.

  • Maintain 98% First Pass Yield (FPY) in production; collaborate across departments to ensure targets are met.

  • Actively participate in developing and launching innovative processes focused on production efficiency and equipment utilization.

  • Introduce forward-looking ideas to enhance manufacturing performance.

  • Support PM, Production, and ECommerce teams with strategies to improve production and profitability.

  • Serve as liaison between front-end operations and production from work order generation through job completion.

  • Understand SOPs, jigs, fixtures, and baseline outputs; report findings to drive continuous improvement.

  • Audit production processes regularly to ensure compliance with SOPs and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Develop new maintenance programs for production-related equipment.

  • Develop new production tools, staging methods, and efficiency-enhancing frameworks.

  • Ensure workflow adherence for inventory management and supply ordering.

  • Collaborate with Management on production roles, responsibilities, resource planning, and scheduling.

  • Support safety programs tied to building and team safety.

  • Improve processes to achieve equal or greater output using the same or fewer inputs.

  • Use AI for planning, analysis, QC comparison to standards, and process support as appropriate.

  • Expected to learn AI tools and apply AI where it adds operational value.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in Smartsheet for production planning and workflow governance.

  • Working knowledge of Autometrix cutting systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of metal and fabric manufacturing tools, equipment, and technology.

  • Ability to manage digital production tools, dashboards, and frameworks.

  • Ability to interpret production data and performance indicators.

  • Knowledge of what AI can do; hands-on experience is a plus.

Required Experience / Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or related fields.

  • Experience with continuous improvement, lean, ISO, or operational frameworks.

  • Ability to work safely around machinery and walk the production floor.

Pay: $ $32.00 per hour
