Qualifications:
- Certification with ACSI or current state licensure or eligibility for such.
- A testimony of an experience of salvation and a growing relationship with Jesus.
- An adequate background of Bible knowledge and the ability to impart biblical truth to students.
- A member of or association with an evangelical Christian congregation and regular attendance including active support where affiliation is held.
- A good moral reputation, strong family relationships, and ability to relate to and to work well with others.
- Possession of qualities of effective teachers.
- An understanding and commitment to Christian education and a commitment with a sense of call from the Lord into teaching.
- Agreement with the Statement of Faith, the philosophy of Christian education, the educational goals, and the curriculum of WCCS
Expectations/Responsibilities:
- Present and assess material pertinent to their subject area according to the absolute Truth of God's Word.
- Teach students according to the school philosophy, goals, and courses of study.
- Prepare adequate lesson plans and keep them readily available as requested by supervisors.
- Maintain weekly grade records.
- Utilize best practices in classroom management to maximize student learning and engagement.
- Accept joint responsibility with other staff members for total non-classroom supervision.
- Attend weekly chapel services.
- Actively participate in school and community affairs.
- Maintain regular contact with each family and use all means available to communicate student progress with parents.
- Supervise textbook issuance and use.
- Participate in professional development provided by the school.
- Prayerfully minister to the spiritual welfare of the students.
- Give wholehearted support and prayer to the school ministry.
- Observe professional courtesy by using the correct chain of command for official business.
- Make decisions which support existing school policies.
- Seek diligently to upgrade their skills and expand their knowledge concerning their profession.
- Pray for the leaders God has placed over them and promote respect for them in their students and with school families and with other faculty members.
- Confer with the immediate supervisor on decisions regarding the retention of a student; changes in equipment with other teachers; any major furniture changes; fundraising projects; field trips; major daily schedule changes; or assigning fees to the students.
- Communicate with the administration in a Christ-like manner, without griping and complaining attitudes.
- Follow procedures and policies in the Faculty Manual.
- Participate in assigned committee work, staff meetings, extra-curricular activities and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Fulfill other reasonable duties as assigned by the school administration without expectation of additional compensation.
End of Year Responsibilities:
- Prepare inventory of textbooks.
- Organize room and store all classroom materials so that summer cleaning/maintenance can be accomplished.
- Submit to the office all items requested by end of year checkout list.
