Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, supporting bidding processes, and ensuring project profitability. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing advanced estimating tools and collaborating closely with project teams. The Construction Estimator will be instrumental in driving successful project outcomes through precise cost analysis and strategic planning.

Duties

• Prepare detailed construction estimates by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and project scope using tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms, ensuring competitive bids.
• Develop comprehensive cost control strategies throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget adherence.
• Review and interpret contracts, change orders, and project documentation to ensure accurate pricing and compliance.
• Assist in the development of project schedules and manage bid timelines effectively.
• Support construction management teams by providing accurate cost data for budgeting and resource allocation.
• Conduct site visits to gather on-the-ground insights that influence estimating accuracy.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials costs, and labor rates to refine estimating practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction site operations.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software tools.
• Strong negotiation skills for working with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Knowledge of construction management, contracts, and project management principles.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience in cost control, pricing strategies, and budget development for construction projects.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Background in construction or related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus. Oliveira and Son Construction LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with strong knowledge of estimating software. The ideal candidate must be able to perform office work when needed, including follow-up calls and scheduling, as well as attend site visits when required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate construction cost estimates
• Perform office work when needed (follow-up calls, scheduling, coordination)
• Review drawings and specifications
• Conduct site visits when required
• Communicate with general contractors and clients

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator
• Experience with estimating software (Clear Estimates, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar)
• Knowledge of demolition, concrete, masonry, and site work (preferred)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in the office and in the field
