Position Summary:
Provides support and case management to children of Holocaust survivors.
Principal Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills And Requirements
- Conduct intakes, provide accurate information and referrals.
- Screen and assess clients' needs, including for entitlements and benefits, emergency cash assistance; make referrals as appropriate.
- Advocate on behalf of clients and arrange for provision of services; develop implement and follow up on care plans.
- Provide individual supportive counseling and make appropriate referrals.
- Facilitate support groups for children of Holocaust survivors.
- Performs outreach to HSP programs and other organizations serving survivors in NYC to connect with children of survivors.
- Maintain complete and accurate case notes utilizing the program's data system; prepare required documentation in case file within organizational time frames
- Maintain and report on statistics according to Selfhelp standards, utilizing the program's data system and other forms of record keeping as needed.
- Actively participate in supervision and staff meetings and share any emergent issues with supervisor in a timely manner.
- Supervise social work students (if applicable).
- Adhere to organization's standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA and any other training the organization may deem necessary regarding regulatory compliance or good business practices.
- Supports organization's mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers.
- Adheres to the organization's policy regarding absenteeism and appearance and health and safety standards.
Salary Ranges: $65,000 - $70,000 commensurate with experience plus $5,000 bonus after 1 year of employment
- Clinical supervision is available for this position
Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills And Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work with 2-5 years' experience with older adults and traumatized populations preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other technology
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on treating clients with respect and dignity
- Able to multi-task and work independently with great attention to detail
Working Conditions/Physical Demand
Knowledge, Skills And Requirements
- Business office environment with phone and computer use, travel via public transportation. This position may have the ability to work from home 2-3 times per week.
