Varsity Crew Assistant Coach

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Roland Park Country School located in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Varsity Crew Assistant Coach. As a school committed to educating and supporting the growth and development of each student, RPCS fosters an environment where students thrive by lifting each other up and leading for the greater good.

This is a part-time paid position that reports to the Co-Directors of Athletics and the Varsity Crew Head Coach. The Upper School spring season begins February 17 and runs through mid-May. Crew team practices are held on weekday afternoons with several weekend regattas throughout the season. A specific schedule including practice and competition locations can be provided to applicants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports and executes the vision for the crew program at RPCS as communicated by the Athletic Department and the Varsity Crew Head Coach.
• Fosters strong relationships with the athletes and inspires them to achieve their best.
• Implements proven coaching techniques and approaches that result in continued growth and success of the program.
• Develops the skills of all of the student-athletes in ways that prepare them for competition performance.
• Works in coordination with the athletic administrative team and coaching staff on scheduling, competition prep, out of season workouts, and equipment.
• A strong communicator with all constituencies.
• An enthusiastic supporter of all aspects of the RPCS community life including academics, arts and the entire athletic department.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time by the Co-Directors of Athletics and/or the Varsity Crew Head Coach.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Local travel may be required for practices, regattas and other program-related activities.

• Stipend : $2, days per week, full season

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• At least two years of athletic and/or competitive coaching experience specific to crew in a high school, college, or professional setting.
