The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and storm water, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system's 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT) is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all facilities related to the treatment of sewage within the five boroughs of the City. This includes 14 wastewater treatment plants, sludge dewatering facilities, collections facilities (pumping stations, combined sewer overflow retention facilities, regulators, tide gates, etc.), wastewater laboratories and harbor vessels.
The selected candidate will report to the Section Chief, the Project Manager (office title) oversees complex Task Order and Job Order Contracts (TOC/JOC) valued between $5M–$30M. The role includes managing design and construction contracts, project oversight, analysis, reviews, payments, and reporting. Coordinate and work with structural, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC engineers and consultants. Conduct Monthly meetings, present progress on contracts.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Contract Management- Lead TOC/JOC programs to meet bureau-wide design and planning needs. Oversee daily contract operations, ensuring compliance and timely execution. Prepare and review RFPs, cost proposals, and consultant agreements. Track contract awards, registrations, and lifecycle status.
-Project Oversight- Review project initiation forms for accuracy and approvals. Conduct monthly progress meetings and monitor KPIs. Assign task orders and coordinate consultant teams. Forecast timelines and funding with advanced duration analysis.
-Reporting & Documentation- Deliver monthly reports on spending, actions, and program status. Maintain contract files, project records, and SharePoint documentation. Build and manage databases and Power BI dashboards for real-time insights.
-Payments & Budget- Process payments for multimillion-dollar contracts with accuracy. Collaborate with Engineering, ACCO, BLA, and Audit teams on
