Heavy Equipment Field Operator

Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and skilled Heavy Equipment Test Operator / Field Technician to support our product testing operations. In this role, you will operate various types of heavy machinery through controlled courses, obstacles, and real-world conditions to evaluate equipment performance, durability, and safety. This position plays a key part in our product development and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery (skid steers, excavators, loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, etc.) across obstacles, test tracks, and challenging terrains according to test plans.
• Conduct controlled maneuvers designed to test traction, handling, durability, wear, and stability of products.
• Assist engineering and production teams with setup, calibration, and preparation of equipment for testing.
• Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and adjustments to test vehicles and machinery.
• Follow strict safety protocols and ensure all testing is performed in a controlled and compliant environment.
• Identify issues, abnormalities, or failures and report them clearly to supervisors or engineers.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (construction, agriculture, or industrial).
• Strong understanding of equipment handling, controls, and safe operation.
• Ability to operate machines in tight, variable, and obstacle-heavy environments.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting or minor adjustments.
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).
• Ability to lift 75–100 lbs and work in outdoor or test-site conditions.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in product testing, quality control, or equipment evaluation.
• Familiarity with hydraulics, electrical systems, or equipment diagnostics.
• Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NCCER, or heavy equipment operator certifications.
• Experience operating multiple machine types or attachments.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
