Join one of the Pacific Northwest's premier private clubs. Riverside Golf and Country Club is seeking a dynamic and talented Executive Chef to lead our culinary team, elevate our dining experiences, and contribute to our longstanding tradition of excellence.
About the Role
The Executive Chef is responsible for all food production across the club's dining outlets, banquet operations, and special events. This leader will design innovative menus, oversee kitchen operations, manage food and labor budgets, and uphold the highest standards of quality, service, and sanitation. The ideal candidate is both a creative culinarian and a strong, hands-on, manager who thrives in a collaborative, member-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Plan and develop menus for all dining outlets and events.
- Create and maintain standard recipes, presentation guidelines, and portion controls.
- Cook or supervise preparation of items requiring advanced culinary skills.
- Evaluate food products to maintain consistent, exceptional quality.
Kitchen & Staff Management
- Schedule and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient, high-quality food production within labor cost goals.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise all kitchen employees.
- Provide ongoing professional development and ensure representatives attend service lineups and meetings.
- Maintain a positive, professional, team-focused work environment.
Operational Excellence
- Approve requisitions for food and supplies and monitor all inventory controls.
- Implement and enforce standards for safety, cleanliness, and sanitation throughout kitchen areas.
- Establish and enforce policies that minimize waste, theft, and inefficiency.
- Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for kitchen equipment and spaces.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Prepare and manage the food and labor budget; project costs and analyze results.
- Assist in determining menu prices and controlling food and payroll costs.
- Attend F&B management meetings and collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage Director.
Member Experience
- Interact with members and guests to ensure culinary offerings exceed expectations.
- Participate in planning for special events and club functions.
- Periodically visit dining areas during service to foster member engagement.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years as an Executive Chef, preferably in a private club, resort, or high-end dining environment. A rising star Sous Chef, with an established career path to becoming an Executive Chef, will also be considered.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume work while maintaining accuracy, quality, and composure.
- Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Proficient in writing reports and standard operating procedures.
- Working knowledge of common computer software programs.
Other Requirements
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs occasionally and stand/work for extended periods.
