Personal Care Worker

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Workers to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings in home care. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive caregiving, patient observation, and personalized assistance with daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or autism. Prior experience in long-term care or home health is preferred, along with required certifications such as CPR and First Aid, TB and recent physical.

Duties

• Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor patient health by observing condition; report changes to healthcare professional
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation tasks
• Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations
• Support residents' participation in social activities and community engagement programs
• Follow established care plans to ensure personalized and consistent care delivery

Requirements

• Valid certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or Dementia Care are a plus
• Recent Physical and TB or must obtain prior to start.
• Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various settings
• Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety awareness
• Physical ability to perform lifting and assist with mobility tasks using proper techniques and equipment
• Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills for working with people with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or mental health challenges
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; experience working with individuals with autism or memory care needs is advantageous
