Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety standards.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records and medical histories.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Utilize Open Dental for efficient record management.
• Conduct vital signs assessments as needed before procedures.
• Support pediatric dentistry efforts by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

• Proficiency in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
• Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and equipment, including 3D scanners.
• Experience with general dentistry practices as well as specialized fields such as prosthodontics and endodontics is preferred.
• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable, along with knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Understanding of medical coding and documentation processes is a plus.
