Basic Function:
Perform installation, troubleshooting, and repair on Sarma IT and Facility systems and equipment.
Principal Accountabilities (Essential Functions)
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting to network, desktop, and/or systems hardware and software
- Perform scheduled daily assignments through service portal.
- Apply basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions for IT systems.
- Manage and coordinate work orders and requests for repairs, maintenance, and supplies of facilities.
- Maintain accurate inventory systems, records, files, tools, and supplies.
- Coordinate vendors in performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on property systems to ensure safe operations
- Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain safety and technical skills.
- Perform shift work, including evenings, weekends, and emergency response, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required (Know How)1. Intermediate-level experience maintaining computer software, hardware, and operations system.2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications3. Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft Outlook/Exchange environments4. Capable of connecting printers/scanners/copiers5. May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.6. Previous experience utilizing ticketing systems7. 1 year working in a service desk environment8. Able to read layouts and plans for both IT and Facility.9. Self-directed with strong ability to stay current with state-of-the-art technology.10. Strong communication and presentation skills.11. High School or GED required. A+ Certification plus.12. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs
Scope of ResponsibilityIncumbent has the primary support for SARMA's production environment and the responsibility to assess and involve appropriate resources to resolve customer problems in a cost effective, timely, and courteous manner.
Problem Solving/Decision MakingMust be able to trouble shoot and make decisions about the IT or facility system that could affect the performance of the department. Must work well under pressure.
Contacts and RelationshipsMust be able to relate to employees, managers, and executives of SARMA, as well as equipment vendors. Physical EnvironmentThis position works primarily in a climate-controlled office including the computer room. There may be some cabling involved requiring working on ladders as well as working with electronic equipment.
