Job description

The Dispatch/Office Clerk is responsible for contacting customers and scheduling the timely pickup of their vehicles. Assist with office work and duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Place outbound calls to scheduled pickups
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to voicemail, and emails
  • Provide necessary documentation to drivers for each pickup/delivery
  • Monitor work-in-progress to ensure timely performance
  • Communicate future day resource (tow truck) requirements to supervisor
  • Research new towers for supervisor
  • Print/Email system reports
  • Receive, review, and process driver paperwork to ensure completeness
  • Communicate issues or potential problems to supervisor and assist in resolving
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relation with all tow drivers
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Greet visitors entering reception area cordially.
  • Answer phone calls politely and efficiently respond to administrative requests from clients, vendors, and employees.
  • Typing Document with proper spelling and grammar.
  • Organizing, maintaining, and filing Records
  • The ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
  • Ability in prioritizing workloads while ensuring priorities and deadlines are met.
  • Ability to work under pressure and accommodate interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility to redirect work as a result of changing priorities.
  • Performs other administrative duties from inserting, copying, and photocopying to faxing as needed.

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required

  • 1-year dispatch experience is preferred, but not required
  • 1-year customer service experience
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to function as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of geographical area and ability to read maps
  • Computer proficient and comfortable operating office equipment
  • Typing speed 45 words per minute
  • Basic Math skills
