Part-time Bus Driver

The part-time bus driver position is a critical part of the Meeting Street Schools team. This position will support our Meeting Street Academy - Charleston campus with transporting students two times/month or 8 hours/month.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation
• Drive a school bus, including picking up and dropping off students and staff passengers at established locations around the city
• Conduct post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all passengers have left the bus
• Attend and participate in safety meetings to learn and achieve the highest professional driving skill level
• Clean bus as necessary to maintain a professional appearance and positive school image
• As requested, take field trip runs to transport students and other passengers to and from their destinations
• Commits to constant professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration
• Models MSS' Path to Success skills and supports the development of those skills in students and peers
• Other duties, as needed

• Ability to kneel, sit, and stand for long periods of time

Requirements:

• At least 21 years old
• High school diploma
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug test, and criminal background check
• Either a Class B or Class C CDL with a passenger endorsement
• Minimum of one year of bus driving experience

This is a part-time role with an hourly pay rate of $25/hour.
