Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with experience in fine dining and menu planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent knife skills, culinary expertise, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Prior experience in the food industry, including restaurant or catering settings, is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and develop new dish ideas in collaboration with the culinary team
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
- Handle food with care, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Support food service operations during busy periods, including plating and garnishing dishes
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Contribute to inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Experience in fine dining environments or high-volume restaurants preferred
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in using knives and other kitchen tools with precision
- Experience in catering or serving is advantageous
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced kitchen settings
- Culinary experience including menu planning, food industry knowledge, and kitchen operations is desirable
