Centaurus Farms Kentucky is part of a growing multi-state cannabis operator with vertically integrated operations spanning cultivation, processing, and retail. We seek an experienced Plant General Manager to scale our operations in Kentucky and manage them once we are operational.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant General Manager to oversee all operations of our state-of-the-art indoor cannabis cultivation, processing, marijuana-infused products (MIP), and packaging facility in Kentucky. This critical leadership position will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, team development, and profitability across all facility functions.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Direct all cultivation, extraction, MIP manufacturing, packaging, and distribution operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with state regulations
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all facility operational functions
  • Optimize production workflows to maximize yield and quality
  • Manage inventory control systems and ensure accurate tracking from seed to sale
  • Oversee facility maintenance, security, environmental controls, production scheduling, and distribution
  • Coordinate order fulfillment and delivery operations to dispensaries and licensed retailers

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Kentucky's cannabis regulatory framework and all applicable laws
  • Maintain all required licenses, permits, and certifications for the facility and staff
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections and audits
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs for all product categories
  • Ensure proper labeling, testing, packaging, and manifesting of all products for distribution

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage annual budgets for all operational departments
  • Monitor and control costs while maintaining quality standards
  • Drive profitability through operational efficiency and waste reduction
  • Prepare financial reports and present performance metrics to senior management and ownership

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing operational team
  • Create a positive workplace culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and mentorship
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and foster cross-departmental collaboration

Product Development & Quality

  • Ensure consistent dosing, quality, and safety of all MIP products
  • Implement and enforce workplace safety protocols and OSHA compliance
  • Maintain product quality standards and testing requirements
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues or deviations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Chemistry, Agriculture, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of operations management experience, preferably in cannabis, hemp, food manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or regulated manufacturing
  • Proven track record of managing multi-departmental operations with P&L responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of cannabis or hemp cultivation techniques and extraction methods
  • Experience with seed-to-sale tracking systems (Metrc or similar) and distribution compliance
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills
  • Strong financial acumen, budget management experience, and communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, or similar quality systems
  • Background in food manufacturing, extraction processes, or product formulation
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Logistics or supply chain management experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk facility floor regularly and inspect operations across all departments
  • Comfortable working in various cultivation and production environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000 annually

Actual compensation depends on experience level and track record. Candidates with extensive cannabis or hemp industry experience, and strong leadership capabilities may command the higher end of the range.
