Role Overview
We are seeking an Entry-Level Field Service Technician to support and maintain mobile surveillance and monitoring systems deployed at customer sites throughout our service territory. This role focuses on hands-on field service, basic electrical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools and electronics, and interested in growing technical skills through real-world field experience.
Core Responsibilities
Field Service & Maintenance
- Perform field service and routine maintenance on deployed surveillance systems
- Inspect, service, and replace basic hardware components
- Verify proper operation of cameras, power systems, and onboard electronics
- Perform visual inspections for damage, wear, or environmental issues
Basic Electrical & Power Troubleshooting
- Test and verify low-voltage battery systems (including 6V configurations)
- Perform basic battery load testing
- Use a multimeter/voltmeter to:
- Confirm voltage, continuity, and basic electrical health
- Identify power or charging issues
- Check wiring connections and circuit board terminations
- Reseat connectors and verify proper hardware connections
Diagnostics & Issue Resolution
- Follow troubleshooting steps to identify common issues
- Resolve basic problems independently
- Escalate advanced issues with clear notes and findings
- Communicate effectively with office staff and vendor support when required
Documentation & Reporting
- Document work performed, test results, and observations
- Take photos where required for service records
- Accurately track time, materials, and job status
- Close service calls with clear and concise summaries
Safety & Professionalism
- Follow safety procedures when working around electrical systems and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical & Hands-On
- Comfortable working with tools, hardware, and electronic components
- Basic understanding of electrical concepts (voltage, continuity)
- Ability to use a multimeter/voltmeter (or willingness to learn)
- Comfortable working with low-voltage and battery-powered systems
Practical
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to work independently in the field
Personal Traits
- Mechanically inclined and curious
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Able to follow procedures and document work
- Comfortable escalating issues when appropriate
Preferred (Not Required)
- Field service, automotive, electrical, or technical experience
- Experience towing small trailers
- Familiarity with battery systems, solar, or mobile power platforms
- Prior exposure to surveillance, security, or monitoring equipment
- Comfortable using a phone or tablet for work documentation

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
