We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is critical to the efficient movement of goods within our logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts to transport, stack, and retrieve materials and products. Your adherence to safety protocols, including proper equipment operation, load handling, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This position offers a great opportunity for skilled individuals to contribute to a dynamic warehouse environment and advance within the logistics field. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, etc.) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and put-away processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for operation.
- Follow all safety regulations, including speed limits, load capacity limits, and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to logistics and warehouse operations.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment through proper lifting techniques and operational discipline.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency in safely handling various types of loads.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of logistics flow and warehouse operations.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and consistently using required PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
