We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Dallas, Texas. This role is critical for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier regulations. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying shipment contents, coordinating with carriers for pickup and delivery, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A key part of this role involves ensuring all packages are properly labeled, documented, and ready for dispatch. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to streamline the shipping process. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential. You must adhere to all safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maintain a secure working environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide status updates as needed.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Communicate with warehouse personnel to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Inspect outgoing packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Follow all company and carrier shipping regulations.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control and reconciliation as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
