We are looking for experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our busy logistics center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on supporting warehouse operations by transporting materials from receiving to storage, and from storage to shipping. This role requires precision, speed, and a strong commitment to safety. You will ensure that all movements are conducted in a controlled manner, minimizing the risk of damage to products and equipment. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is crucial. This position is vital to our supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate handling of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and safely.
- Store and retrieve inventory from racking systems.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any issues or required maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and locations.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a forklift operator with valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to forklift operation and warehouse environments.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
