We are looking for an Order Picker to join our growing logistics team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. Your efficiency and accuracy are key to our operational success and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is paramount. Safety is our highest priority, and all employees are required to follow strict safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This position involves significant physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout your shift. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the warehousing and distribution industry. You will utilize scanning technology and work within our inventory management system to ensure precise order fulfillment. We foster a team-oriented atmosphere and encourage continuous improvement in all aspects of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Locate and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves according to order sheets.
- Use handheld scanners and other technology to track inventory movements.
- Verify product identification, quantity, and quality before fulfilling orders.
- Transport picked items to designated packing or staging areas.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or stock issues to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Participate in regular inventory cycle counts.
- Meet or exceed performance expectations for picking accuracy and productivity.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a warehouse setting is a significant advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product labels accurately.
- Basic math skills for quantity verification.
- Must be physically capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks of up to 50 pounds consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team in a demanding logistics environment.
- Understanding of basic warehouse safety principles and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
