We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy warehouse team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming shipments. Your duties will include unloading delivery trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly stocking received goods. This position is fundamental to our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that our inventory is accurate and readily available. Safety is our top priority, and all team members are required to strictly follow safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role involves physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and operating equipment. You'll work closely with our inventory management team to maintain stock integrity and contribute to the smooth flow of goods through our facility. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks in a safe and timely manner.
- Verify received goods against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
- Inspect all incoming items for any damage or discrepancies.
- Document receiving information accurately into the inventory system.
- Stage received products for put-away or distribution.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification may be required).
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to PPE guidelines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
