We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the documentation and preparation of all outgoing shipments. This includes verifying order accuracy, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all shipments meet regulatory and company standards. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this position. You will play a vital part in ensuring that our products reach our customers efficiently and without errors. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic warehouse environment and develop your skills within the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order details against shipping documents and product contents.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, customs forms).
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled, weighed, and measured.
- Maintain organized shipping records and update tracking information.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Conduct routine checks of shipping supplies and equipment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including some lifting and moving of items.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/warehouse role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Familiarity with logistics and shipping procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and carriers.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and safety protocols.
- Willingness to wear required PPE when necessary.
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
