Join our expanding logistics operations as a Shipping Clerk in sunny Tampa, Florida. This role is vital to ensuring that our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, verifying order details, and coordinating with carriers. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. You will be a key player in our shipping department, contributing to the smooth flow of goods from our warehouse to their final destinations. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with internal teams and external shipping partners. We are looking for a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks and maintain a high level of accuracy. Prior experience in shipping or administrative roles within a logistics environment is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and process all outgoing shipments.
- Verify shipping information against customer orders and invoices.
- Prepare shipping labels and packing slips.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on packed orders before dispatch.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as required.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have demonstrated experience in a shipping or logistics role. Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills are necessary. Must be able to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and handle materials carefully. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally may be required. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities are essential for this role. Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices in logistics is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. High school diploma or equivalent is expected. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all employees to comply with safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
