Housekeeper - Part-time

Organizational & Team Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with employees, volunteers, tenants, and external contractors.
• Represent YWCA Lethbridge & District in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
• Assist maintenance staff and external contractors with additional duties as assigned.
• Accurately record work hours using the UKG mobile app.

• Clean and disinfect washrooms daily or as required.
• Clean and disinfect kitchens, including appliances (some appliances may need to be moved).
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, elevators, doors, and walls using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, wax, and polish floors as required.
• Clean and prepare residence rooms for new tenants, including furniture moving and wall washing.
• Identify and promptly report maintenance or repair needs to the Building Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

• Understanding of Health and Safety standards and sanitation practices.
• Knowledge of building operations and general facility systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Working Conditions

• Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and moving items throughout the shift.
• Regular use of cleaning products, chemicals, and custodial equipment.
• Occasional assistance with maintenance-related tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Clear Criminal Record Check.
• Clear Child and Youth Intervention Record Check.
• Standard First Aid Level C with AED.
• WHMIS certification (considered an asset).
