Overview

The functional reporting for the Materials Planner role will be to the Supply Planning Manager. The bakery crew e.g. receivers, cycle counters and line shippers who will be supporting the activities below will be providing support to this position for their portion of responsibilities laid out below.

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 (Eligible for up to a 7% annual bonus)

Location: Etobicoke, ON

Primary Responsibilities

  • Planning and replenishing central ingredients and packaging items on a weekly basis using planning tool/SAP MRP
  • Create Purchase orders with the suppliers and monitor weekly Purchase orders which are due for delivery
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for all raw materials managed centrally and maintain and balance of inventory in the bakery network
  • Weekly reviewing the inventory reconciliations between SAP IM and EWM systems to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Generate weekly shelf-life report and work with quality team for shelf-life extension for ingredients to minimize write offs
  • Develop processes to improve inventory accuracy for all centrally stored raw materials
  • Work with PLM and bakeries for the new project launches and ensure timely placement of Pos to the suppliers ensuring inventory availability throughout the network
  • Evaluate risk based on the forecast and other factors concerning risk to supply market
  • Understand, identify, and root cause KPI misses for opportunities to improve trends
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential buyers and suppliers to the organization along with maintaining supplier score cards and having discussions with suppliers on service levels periodically
  • Work with transportation team to plan delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact suppliers to resolve problems
  • Drive to improve and develop processes/tools that contribute and/or act as multipliers to overall WB business health

Required Experience

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Materials Management, Industrial engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Strong communicator and team builder
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced & multitasking environment
  • Possess strong planning and time management skills
  • Ability to learn fast, ambitious, and come up with new innovative
  • Naturally curious and strong desire to learn and grow
  • Possess excellent analytical skills
  • Flexible to work different work schedules when needed
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
  • SAP experience is considered an asset
  • Programming skills are considered an asset
