About the role: Reporting to the Supervisor, Telemetry Systems, the Senior Software Analyst is responsible for helping lead a high performing team to deliver and maintain leading edge digital mining technology. These technologies include autonomous and tele-remote equipment, rugged mobile computers, end-to-end sensorization of heavy equipment and fixed assets, and asset health systems that optimize productivity and availability via real-time tracking and monitoring

This role requires a teammate who has sophisticated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, along with experience supporting and maintaining servers, software and databases.   • In this role you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Plan, develop, and support solutions to meet the business objectives of the Mine Operations, Engineering, and Operating Excellence departments
  • Assist/Lead in the assessment, design, implementation, and deployment of sensor and edge computing technology projects focusing on improving the safety, sustainability, and productivity of mining assets
  • Collect, transmit and visualize maintenance data from equipment sensors, computers and fixed plant assets
  • Develop and leverage relationships across operations and corporate offices to facilitate alignment of objectives, encouraging communication and collaboration
  • Develop and maintain standards and documentation
  • Rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule
  • Facilitate and support cyber-security improvements, incident response, and forensics
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer, Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years experience in systems administration
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of General Computer Controls (GCC) related to operations, information security, and change management system software, application source code, network, electronics, command line, and system database technologies
  • Previous experience large-scale project implementations
  • Technical writing and documentation experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, virtualization, Active Directory and computer networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies for pipelining and processing large datasets
  • Programming experience with C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL Server, shell scripting and Git
  • Experience in the mining or heavy industry
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Experience with networking (ethernet, industrial, wifi, LTE, OSI model, Purdue model)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent
  • The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity
