Senior Financial Analyst
The UMC team works four days a week from our award-winning creative campus located in Liberty Village, Toronto, and one day to work virtually.
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the organization's financial operations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who excels in process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and the delivery of accurate, timely financial information. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing periods of increased workload during month-end, quarter-end, and project deadlines, and will be committed to contributing to the team's long-term success.
How You'll Lead:
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and final financial reporting
- Analyze financial data, trends, and variances to provide actionable insights for business decision-making
- Identify and resolve issues by conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions
- Develop and enhance financial models, reports, and analytical tools
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Conduct financial, internal controls, and compliance reviews in accordance with global policies and procedures
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support for special projects as required
- Collaborate closely with operations and project teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of business activities
- Train and support offshore team members to ensure process alignment and consistency
What You Bring:
- 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a willingness to engage with complex issues
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis tools
- Ability to learn and work with multiple systems
- Desire to contribute to and grow with the team
- Experience working with or training offshore teams is highly desirable
- CPA designation or active enrollment in a CPA program
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Power Query)
- Background in operations finance or project accounting
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Salary Range:
$75,000 to $90,000The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
