We have an exciting opportunity within the Transmission Engineering team. This role supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the transmission gas system. The successful candidate will work closely with field operations, construction, project teams, and external stakeholders to plan and execute natural gas transmission pipeline projects that can consist of upgrades, removals, abandonments and new installations.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a Project Manager, developing and executing multiple projects for the construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas pipelines and facilities.
  • Responsible for project specific conceptual and detailed technical design in the areas of pipeline engineering.
  • Plan, budget, schedule, report, and ensure overall execution of the design, construction, commissioning, and close-out project phases.
  • Coordinate with a variety of internal teams (engineering, land, construction, operations, procurement, etc.) and external partners (consultants, contractors, vendors, etc.) acting as a technical resource.
  • Ensure compliance with code and company project management processes, specifications, material and equipment specifications, optimization of design for operations and construction, job plan development, and any associated engineering calculations.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications and engineering standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering.

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) registered with APEGA with >2 years' experience could be considered.

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.

  • Experience in pipeline systems, project management, construction, or operations is a requirement.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong motivation, and a proactive approach to challenges. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
