About the RoleAs the Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for all Steven Automotive Group dealerships. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex payroll structures accurately and on time.
You will serve as the central point of accountability for payroll operations, working closely with HR, management, and dealership leadership to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency across the organization.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and manage payroll for multiple dealerships and departments
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and benefits
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Review payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and discrepancies prior to submission
Manage employee pay records, changes, and documentation with strict confidentiality
Coordinate payroll schedules, deadlines, and reporting requirements
Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and management professionally and promptly
Maintain organized payroll records, reports, and audit documentation
Collaborate with HR and leadership on payroll updates, policy changes, and system improvements
Utilize and maintain payroll systems and dealership software efficiently
High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education in accounting or payroll preferred
Previous payroll experience strongly preferred (multi-location or high-volume payroll a plus)
Automotive dealership experience is a plus, but not required
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
Strong computer skills and ability to learn payroll and dealership systems
Clear communication skills and ability to work with employees at all levels
