Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host / Maitre D' to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth seating process. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong sense of hospitality, and the ability to manage guest relations efficiently. Prior experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha and Micros. The Host / Maitre D' plays a vital role in creating a memorable dining experience by providing exceptional guest services and maintaining a positive environment.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently using POS systems like Aloha or Micros
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, answering any initial questions about the menu or restaurant offerings
• Manage waitlists during busy hours, ensuring timely seating arrangements
• Handle guest inquiries with professionalism via phone and in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills
• Coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth flow of service and guest satisfaction
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area
• Assist with guest complaints or special requests promptly to enhance overall guest experience
• Support other front-of-house operations as needed, including assisting servers during peak times

Qualifications

• Previous host/host experience or restaurant experience preferred
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is a plus
• Experience in hospitality, hotel, or guest services is advantageous
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and demeanor with strong phone etiquette skills
• Ability to work well within a team and maintain positive guest relations
