Mission Summary

We are hiring for
one of our clients
a
Principal Software Engineer
to build the foundational infrastructure that enables Machine Learning Engineers to deliver the next generation of self-driving technology.

This team designs and operates
high-performance, large-scale platforms
that process petabytes of vehicle data, power massive simulation workloads, and support the training of complex ML models. This is a
hands-on software engineering role
focused on platform and infrastructure development —
not an SRE position
.

As a Principal Engineer, you will serve as the technical cornerstone of the team, setting architectural direction and leading the development of critical infrastructure used daily by hundreds of engineers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Architect and lead the development of
  highly scalable, distributed infrastructure services
  running on Kubernetes
• Define the technical vision and long-term roadmap for the platform, making high-impact architectural decisions
• Mentor and guide senior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and technical leadership
• Remain hands-on by building and deploying complex systems, including:
• High-throughput data processing services
• Core compute orchestration and scheduling platforms
• Partner cross-functionally with ML, data, and simulation teams to accelerate autonomous system development

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Strong, hands-on Kubernetes (K8s) experience is required
• Proven track record designing, building, and operating production services at scale
• Demonstrated experience building
  large-scale distributed infrastructure
• Deep understanding of reliability, throughput, fault tolerance, and scalability challenges
• Expertise in
  Python, Go, or a similar systems language
• Experience working with a major cloud provider (
  AWS, GCP, or Azure
  )
• Ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through production

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range (U.S.):

$174,000 – $234,250 USD

Final compensation will depend on experience, location, and role scope. Additional compensation may include bonus and/or equity.
