Certified Medication Aide

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing homes or home care settings, with a strong understanding of patient care and medication administration. This role involves providing high-quality care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, including those requiring memory care, dementia care, and hospice support. The Certified Medication Aide will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and medical documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and established protocols
• Monitor and record vital signs, patient responses, and medication effects
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, and nutrition support
• Document all medication administration and patient interactions using EMR/EHR Point Click Care
• Maintain detailed medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Support patients in hospice or palliative care settings with compassion and professionalism
• Recognize and respond promptly to adverse reactions or changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans
• Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards

Requirements

• Valid Certified Medication Aide license in Texas
• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a healthcare team
• Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified patient care

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
