Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Analysis
• Strategic Plan Development: Lead the creation and execution of annual and multi-year business plans, including growth projections, capital expenditure strategies (fleet expansion, technology investments), and market penetration initiatives.
• Financial Modeling & Cost Analysis: Analyze key cost drivers—fuel, maintenance, insurance, labor—and operational data to assess financial impact. Build and maintain advanced financial models (e.g., cost-per-mile, profitability analysis) to establish optimal freight rates and guide pricing strategies.
• Performance Management: Define, track, and present key performance indicators (KPIs) such as asset utilization, on-time delivery (OTD), terminal dwell time, safety metrics, and operating expenses to support data-driven decision-making.
- Operational Excellence & Optimization
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with Operations and Dispatch teams to understand core workflows and identify opportunities for optimization in routing, scheduling, and daily processes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement using Lean methodologies.
• Technology Enablement: Assess, recommend, and support the implementation of new logistics technologies—including TMS platforms, routing optimization tools, and AI-driven systems—to increase efficiency, improve data visibility, and enhance operational performance.
- Leadership & New Initiatives
• Drayage Bidding Model Development: Lead and support the establishment of a new drayage pricing model, including carrier sourcing, developing evaluation frameworks, and standardizing bidding processes.
• TMS 2.0 Upgrade Support: Actively collaborate with the PI Division to support the enhancement and rollout of the TMS 2.0 system, ensuring seamless system upgrades and operational alignment.
Qualifications:
- Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Finance, or a related quantitative field required.
• Experience: 3–7 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation planning, or supply chain analysis; direct experience in the trucking or freight industry strongly preferred.
• Technical Proficiency:
– Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel for complex data modeling, scenario analysis, and financial forecasting.
– Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics planning tools.
– Familiarity with business intelligence (BI) platforms is highly desirable.
- Key Skills & Abilities
• Analytical Excellence: Strong analytical and planning capabilities with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify cost drivers, and develop actionable, data-driven recommendations.
• Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to translate complex operational challenges into clear long-term strategies and practical, executable short-term plans.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial and operational concepts to stakeholders at all levels—from frontline drivers to executive leadership.
• Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate effectively across departments, and influence decision-making without direct supervisory authority.
