Pricing Analyst

United Veterinary Care is growing, and we're looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our Commercial team. In this role, you will provide support in key commercial areas to ensure we drive strong revenue and EBITDA growth trajectories. Key support will be provided through pricing activities, average order value insights, category analyses that span the complete UVC service and product offering. This role will support data analytics for our Specialty & Emergency (SPEC/ER) hospitals and contribute to the commercial program initiatives through data discovery and performance tracking. Additionally, this role will support prioritized Customer and Commercial analyses in addition to content for Leadership presentations. The Pricing Analyst will primarily work remotely with the ability to travel up to 10-15% of the time.
What You'll Do:
Average Order Value (AOV) & Pricing
- Maintain a pulse on Average Order Value (price & mix) trends across UVC hospitals.
- Notify management regarding AOV trends that materially change (favorable and unfavorable) or flag performance that is significantly off budget.
- Proactively assess market trends that may impact price growth and provide suggested actions to management.
- Support pricing through competitive market data, secret shopping, and internal benchmarks.
- Effectively execute the pricing budget process on time and in full (data, analytics, templates, training, excel, templates).
- Alert management of price erosion factors that threaten price growth (e.g. price discounts).
Analytics & Insights
- Build category analyses that identify areas of opportunity for process improvements and growth.
- Drive customer & commercial insights that foster growth and leakage prevention (i.e. AOV, Price, Volume).
- Partner with the data team to vet insights and distribute via Power BI dashboards.
- Support commercial programs with data, analysis, and content as directed by management.
- Implement control plans to ensure commercial projects are effective after initial launch.
- Special projects and ad hoc analyses as prioritized by management.
Specialty & Emergency (SPEC/ER) Support
- Proactively monitor Specialty and Emergency hospital key metric trends (AOV, Volume, Price, Programs).
- Surface insights and trends for management to address with regional leaders.
- Stand up analyses that support commercial programs as defined by management.
- Collaborate with the Marketing SPEC/ER Specialist to align marketing and commercial efforts.
- Develop an understanding of the factors that drive price in the SPEC/ER space.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, or elevated degree in data analytics.
- 5 years' experience in pricing, commercial analytics, revenue management, or a similar analytical role.
- Experience in the veterinary, healthcare, or related services industry is preferred.
- Self-driven and able to work independently.
- Ability to provide suggestions based on external and internal data.
- Strong analytical toolkit that makes use of business intelligence and reporting software.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and perform well in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Must be able to translate complex data into user-friendly insights (effective communicator).
- High level of professionalism, integrity and discretion.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Excel (experience with PowerPoint and other Office suite tools preferred).
- Ability to travel 10-15% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent work at a computer for 90-100% of the time.
- Frequent to moderate noise levels in the work environment.
- Frequent ability to carry our instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (life, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.
