Teacher - Grade 5

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced educator to join our educational team as a Grade 5 teacher. This teaching position will be part of a team of educators who work collaboratively to provide a student-centered learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a background in education with experience in working collaboratively with other educators.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
• Maintains standards of classroom behavior.
• Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
• Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board of Education policy.
• Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
• Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
• Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
• Provides for professional growth, to include maintaining certification requirements.
• And all other duties as assigned by the School Board / Superintendent / building Principal and / or immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification
• Experience working with educators in a student-centered classroom
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.

Evaluations

Performance shall be evaluated by the Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education's policy on evaluation of professional staff.
