Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pool Technician to join our team who is looking to transition "off the tools" into a management role in the near future. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of swimming pools, ensuring that they are clean, safe, and functioning properly while also learning the Puddle Operations Procedures. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge and hands-on skills, making it essential for candidates to have experience with various tools and equipment used in pool maintenance. General computer knowledge and previous supervisory experience is also considered an asset.

Duties

  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of swimming pools, including skimming debris, vacuuming, and brushing surfaces.
  • Test water chemistry and balance chemicals as needed to maintain safe swimming conditions.
  • Inspect pool equipment such as pumps, filters, automation, and lighting for proper operation, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Lead hand during opening and closing season working with another team member to ensure efficient and complete openings and closings.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and installations.
  • Hot tub service experience not required but considered an asset.
  • Build or repair pool decks, fences, or other structures as required.
  • Dig trenches or holes for installation of new equipment or repairs as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed on each pool and report any issues to management.
  • Assist with pool installation process and customer relationship management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in pool maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
  • Ability to properly repair and replace pool plumbing to complete equipment swaps and upgrades.
  • Vinyl liner and safety cover installation experience considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently while completing tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid G driver's license with clean abstract

Terms

This is a contract position for the 2026 Swimming Pool Season - 28 Weeks - April 20th - October 30th. For the right candidate, a year-round schedule with reduced winter hours is a possibility.
