THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Plumber to join our team in Coquitlam, B.C.
What is in for you?
- Starting wage: CAD $37–$43 per hour (depending on experience)
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Days off: Saturday and Sunday
- Base site: Coquitlam
- Service area: Abbotsford, Coquitlam, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island (rarely)
- Will be the in-house service and maintenance plumber for TCG Senior Living Care
- Travel from site to site to perform scheduled maintenance and repairs as well as emergency repairs.
- Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
- Procure parts from suppliers and maintain truck with inventory of parts/supplies required.
- Regular maintenance on boilers and HVAC systems
- Emergency and after hours call-out for repairs. (Overtime paid)
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systemsLocate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
- Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Prepare cost estimates and work with third part mechanical and electrical trades.
- Journeyperson Plumber Certificate (SkilledTradesBC); Red Seal an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of plumbing maintenance experience in residential, commercial, or healthcare environments
- Working knowledge of the BC Plumbing Code and WorkSafeBC regulations
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of water, drainage, and venting systems
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and work orders
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform work safely in accordance with WorkSafeBC policies and safe work procedures
- Proficient in the use of plumbing hand and power tools
- Ability to complete maintenance records, inspections, and hazard assessments
- Effective communication with residents, staff, and contractors
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently
- Available for occasional emergency callouts.
