Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center is a unique, memory care assisted living community where we care for residents with mild to moderate levels of dementia.

Position Summary: TheResident Assistant, or RA, is a caregiverproviding assistance to residents under the supervision of the LPN and/or RN.Resident Assistants provide compassionate care that is respectful of eachresident's needs,values and wishes.

Job Specific Competencies

Principal Responsibilities:
Core Competencies:

  • Supports the Trinity/SPHP Vision, Mission, Values in all encounters with residents and families
  • Adheres to the SPHP Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrates accountability as an individual and team member in meeting basic residentand family needs

Clinical Competencies:
ResidentAssistantsprovide the following nursing services under the supervision and direction of anLPN orRNacross the continuum of care at SPHP.

  • Assist residents with activities of dailyliving (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming,toileting and mobility in a respectful, compassionate manner.
  • Assist residents in taking medications as needed.
  • Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.
  • Monitorresident safety and well- being, reporting anychange to theLPN. Consult with the LPN/RN on any changesof healthstatuses of residents.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their personal histories, preferences and routinesandanticipate needs of residents.
  • Help with light housekeeping and meal serviceas needed tomaintain a safe andclean living space.
  • Participate in team meetings and communicate/collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.

Education Requirements:

  • Mustpossess patience,empathy and a genuine desire to help others
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in senior care, health care or assisted living preferred, but notrequired

Must be able to:

  • Ability to follow care plan and safety protocols
  • Working knowledge of computers including electronichealth record, checking email, and preforming required in-servicing, along with use of other required applications
  • Have thephysical,visual and auditoryability adequate to performresidentcare
  • Maintain composure and positivity in a high stress environment
  • Promote physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being of each resident
  • Work with residents in a highly personal manner during stages of acute and chronic illness

Pay Range: : $ $20.36 per hour

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
