What You Will Do
Design & Technical Coordination
- Develop, refine, and approve design concepts, technical drawings, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD platforms.
- Coordinate and integrate mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems into laboratory or healthcare environments.
- Review architectural, mechanical, and other technical drawings to ensure feasibility and alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare accurate take-offs and support cost estimates.
- Produce and update shop drawings post-project award.
- Support the sales team with technical detailing during the sales process to reduce administrative burden and enable client-facing activities.
- Conduct site visits as needed for design verification and documentation.
Project Administration & Logistics
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including financial records, meeting minutes, action items, and organized project files.
- Track and follow up on project tasks to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery logistics for project materials.
- Assist with procurement, vendor coordination, and invoicing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, Client Relations, Sales, and Installers to clarify design details and confirm installation requirements.
- Support multidisciplinary teams by maintaining drawing standards, templates, and internal documentation formats.
- Provide proactive communication to resolve issues and maintain project readiness.
What You Bring to The Table
- 5–6 years of experience in design, laboratory or healthcare furniture, technical drafting, and project coordination.
- Proven experience in laboratory fit-outs, healthcare or architectural projects, or complex furniture systems, including integration of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools; SolidWorks experience is an asset.
- Ability to read, interpret, and review technical drawings and spatial layouts.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and process-tracking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Confident, clear communicator with professional assertiveness.
- Familiarity with ERP or project management systems (LabPro, Procore, Smartsheet, MS Projects, or similar).
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed for design verification and documentation.
- Growth-oriented, coachable mindset with a desire to take ownership and advance technically.
