Infrastructure Lead

Job Title: Kafka Infra Lead

Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 12+ months (possible extension)

Role Overview

Will own and enhance the enterprise Kafka messaging platform, partnering with cross-functional technology teams to ensure seamless integration, stability, scalability, and security. Requires deep expertise in Confluent Kafka administration, large-scale cluster management, and event-driven architecture, with strong stakeholder collaboration and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead integration and support of Kafka messaging infrastructure across technology teams
• Install, administer, upgrade, and maintain Confluent Platform components
• Analyze system logic, identify issues, and design/implement enhancements and solutions
• Support large, multi-node Kafka clusters in a production environment
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Systems Analysts to document impacts and requirements
• Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security concerns; propose mitigation strategies

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in Apache Kafka, Zookeeper, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, Control Center, Replicator, and Security Plugins
• Experience managing large-scale Kafka clusters and full platform lifecycle (install, upgrade, maintenance)
• Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
• 2+ years of scripting experience (Ansible preferred)
