Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role (including various training sites) for a Director of Learning and Development based in Queens, NY. The Director of Learning and Development will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative training and development programs. Responsibilities include managing learning initiatives, developing curricula tailored to organizational needs, enhancing leadership development programs, supporting overall employee engagement, and collaborating with the Learning & Development Manager to implement OPWDD required training. The role includes leading the Learning and Development department to create impactful learning experiences and drive organizational growth.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Training & Development and Learning Management techniques and tools
  • Adult Learning & Instructional Science Expertise
  • Proficiency in Instructional Design and Curriculum Development to create and implement effective programs
  • Experience in Leadership Development aimed at enhancing managerial and leadership capacities
  • Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in an inclusive environment
  • Proven track record of executing and assessing high-impact learning strategies
  • Master's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in the nonprofit or developmental disabilities sector is highly desirable
  • Experience as a CPR/First Aid, SCIP, Choking Prevention trainer is preferred; also as an Instructor Trainer is highly desirable
