Über
The Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations. On-the-job training will be provided to familiarize the individual with company systems, policies, and procedures.
NB* Must have own transportation. There is no public transit, Uber, Lyft or taxi to the park.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Financial Controller with Monthly P&L preparation, bank statement reconciliation, monthly forecast, quarterly reviews, Weekly bank transactions, weekly payment runs, Payroll and month end journals, weekly labor reports, weekly Season Pass reports.
Record AP Purchase orders and invoices, Accounts receivables.
Assist on preparing DOR, Weekly DOR
Assist and support Operations in Cash Controls
Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma in Accounting or Business, or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is preferred; experience in the hospitality, recreation of entertainment industries is a plus but not required.
• Good understanding of accrual accounting and financial reporting principles.
• Familiar with accounting software (e.g., Great Plains, or similar ERP) and strong Excel.
• Experience with POS and ticketing systems considered an asset.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
• Office-based role at Calypso Waterpark, with regular collaboration across departments.
• Requires flexibility during the park's operating season, including occasional extended hours for month-end and audit preparation.
