Overhead Door Technician

As a member of the service team and as a new member within our Waterloo branch, you will join a diverse, dynamic group of highly motivated individuals that bring with them a wide array of talents, skills and backgrounds. Reporting to the Service Manager, this role will perform various tasks while working out in the field such as installations and repair service, including inspections of overhead doors and loading docks.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Install and service commercial and industrial garage doors
• Repair automatic and manual overhead doors at customer's facility or home
• Create and maintain relationships with customers
• Read manuals and use resources to correctly perform repairs for different brands of doors serviced
• Use welding techniques to assist with operations and repairs
• Maintain inventory on company service vehicles in order to effectively perform service calls
• Monitor vehicle for potential service issues and report them to management
• Rotate the after-hour phone between other employees and respond to emergency calls
• Work efficiently in small teams to complete daily tasks and assignments
• Remain in contact with the Service Administrator daily

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 2+ year of experience working with overhead doors
• Electromechanical repair skills are an asset
• Must have a valid G class driver's license
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willing and able to work on a rotating on-call schedule when required
