What You'll Do

As a Construction Takeoff Specialist, you'll be a vital link between design, estimating, fabrication, and the field. Your work ensures our projects are accurate, coordinated, and ready to build.

You will:

• Create detailed HVAC ductwork shop drawings from contract documents and specifications
• Interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical plans to ensure accurate coordination
• Lay out duct systems including sizing, routing, elevations, and equipment connections
• Apply SMACNA standards, project specifications, and applicable mechanical codes
• Update drawings based on RFIs, change orders, and field conditions
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection when required

Material Takeoffs

• Produce comprehensive ductwork takeoffs including fittings, accessories, and specialty items
• Quantify materials for estimating, fabrication, and procurement
• Identify long-lead and specialty components early
• Maintain organized, accurate takeoff documentation

Collaboration & Quality

• Partner with estimators, project managers, engineers, and field teams
• Participate in coordination meetings and problem-solve constructability challenges
• Verify accuracy of drawings and quantities before release
• Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting and takeoff processes

What You Bring

• Experience in HVAC ductwork drafting and material takeoffs
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sheet metal fabrication
• Proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar software
• Knowledge of SMACNA standards and mechanical codes
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents
• A detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time-management skills

Preferred (but not required):

• BIM/VDC experience
• Estimating or fabrication shop experience
• Familiarity with spiral, rectangular, and specialty duct systems
• Field experience in HVAC installation
